
Maria Camila Barriga

Maria Camila is a Colombian national with experience in conflict resolution, accountability, and project management. Before joining the CAO, Maria Camila worked as Case Officer at the Dispute Resolution (DR) function of the Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) of the Inter-American Development Bank. While working at MICI’s DR function, she managed multiple cases in Latin America and the Caribbean from the assessment stage to the dialogue and agreement monitoring stages. As part of her master’s studies, she worked at The Carter Center and the Organization of American States in areas of human rights, conflict resolution, and public management. She started her career working at a consulting firm in Colombia, where she designed and implemented projects for public sector institutions in the areas of transparency and citizen engagement. Maria Camila holds a master’s degree in International Security from Sciences-Po Paris and a bachelor’s degree in Government and International Relations from the Externado de Colombia University.
