Komala is a human rights lawyer with more than 12 years of experience working on development finance, corporate accountability, and poverty and inequality. Prior to joining CAO, she was associate director of the business and human rights division at Human Rights Watch. Previously, she was the communities director for South Asia at Accountability Counsel. She has worked extensively in Latin America, South Asia, and the United States. A US national, Komala is a member of the New York State Bar. She received degrees in economics and political science from Northwestern University, and a JD from Harvard Law School.
