Prior to joining CAO, Safi cofounded a technology and consulting company that worked with Fortune 500 companies on management of social and environmental risk and optimizing social impact management in high-risk emerging markets. She has also worked for UNDP, the World Bank, the European Commission and the United States Institute for Peace managing projects and policy advisory for FCS as well as private companies in extractives, energy, agribusiness and finance sectors on risk and sustainability issues. Safi is certified in GRI Sustainability Standards training, holds a MSt from Oxford University in International Human Rights Law and a PhD in Social Policy from King’s College, London.
